
Dr. Farady graduated from Trinity University with a B.A. in
Biology in 1980. She then attended the University of Texas
Medical Branch at Galveston, where she was a member of Alpha
Omega Alpha, the medical honor society.
She graduated in 1984. She then completed an internship
in Internal Medicine at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego.
The first eleven years of her medical career were spent as
a medical officer in the U.S. Navy, with assignments in San
Diego, Long Beach, CA, Washington, D.C., and Charleston, S.C.
She completed her dermatology residency at the University
of Texas in San Antonio in 1992. She left the Navy in 1995
and returned to her hometown of Austin, where she took over
the practice of Dr. Mac Brannen, who was retiring after a
long and distinguished career.
Dr. Farady is a member of the Texas Medical Association,
the Texas Dermatologic Association, and the Austin Dermatologic
Society. She served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Austin Dermatologic
Society in 1999 and as president in 2000.
Over the years, Dr. Farady has expanded her practice to meet
the growing demand for dermatologic services in the community.
She has been fortunate to have found four excellent physicians
and friends to join her. Her primary career interests are
medical and cosmetic dermatology, as well as practice management.
Dr. Farady shares a home with her husband Michael. When she
is not working, she enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and
tennis.
